Fees for Dental Services
The fee for your therapy will be based on the extent of treatment. During your first visit, Dr. Dahan will discuss the probable number of visits, their length, and the fees involved.
It is our policy that your care is paid for at the time of treatment. Because of the nature of our practice and the kinds of cases we treat, it is not possible for us to accept insurance in lieu of payment. We will, however, provide you with all the information required by your insurance carrier so that you may obtain any reimbursements due to you. Please note that some of our fees are above the Suggested Fee Guide of the Ontario Dental Association. Therefore, it is our experience that some of our treatments will not be covered through standard dental insurance.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Dental Services
Repeatedly losing sleep creates a deficit in your sleep bank which makes it difficult to handle stressful situations and can lead to anxiety. While there’s a definite connection between sleep apnea and anxiety, it’s often unclear whether the loss of sleep is causing anxiety or the anxiety itself is causing the disorder.
Unfortunately, it may also be a two-way connection. Patients who suffer from anxiety might be at higher risk for developing a sleep disorder, such as sleep apnea. This means that if you treat one of the conditions, you may be able to alleviate the other as well.
With an oral appliance, you can improve your anxiety without ever taking a prescription medication. Contact our Ottawa office to learn more by calling (613) 454-1854 — one of our knowledgeable team members will be happy to answer your questions.
Yes! Many of our patients prefer to undergo a sleep test in the comfort of their own home. This allows you to feel more relaxed and comfortable while also providing us with more reliable data since you’re maintaining your typical sleep routine. Once your test is complete, a qualified sleep physician will examine the results and provide you with a diagnosis.
Along with injury, there are many other factors that may cause TMJ disorder. This may include teeth grinding, missing teeth, certain types of arthritis in the TMJ, dislocation of the ball and socket of the TMJ, and it’s also known to be genetic. At your appointment, Dr. Dahan will assess your symptoms and entire mouth to determine the cause of your TMJ pain.
The duration of TMJ disorder, also known as TMD, varies from person to person. Some people may experience TMD for a few days, while others may have symptoms that last for years. If you’re experiencing TMD symptoms, you don’t have to power through it. Get the help you need so you can sleep peacefully and wake up pain-free.
