Botox/Headaches

BOTOX TREATMENT FOR HEADACHES, MIGRAINES AND TMJ PAIN

For many patients, TMJ pain is one of many precipitating factor for their ongoing, chronic headaches and migraines.   Dr. Dahan uses BOTOX as an alternative treatment for headaches, migraines, TMJ disorders and associated jaw tension. When injected into facial muscles afflicted with soreness and discomfort, BOTOX relieves TMJ and jaw tension for many patients. The injections often eliminate headaches resulting from teeth grinding and jaw tension.

HOW DOES BOTOX TREAT TMJ PAIN AND HEADACHES?

BOTOX relieves jaw tension by making muscles unable to engage in the powerful, often unconscious movement of the jaw that produces headaches and pain.

The BOTOX alternative treatment for headaches, migraines, TMJ disorders and jaw tension is usually quick, straightforward, and effective. A non-surgical procedure, most patients experience noticeable improvement within one or two days of their first treatment, although relief can take up to a week.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR BOTOX TO TREAT MY TMJ PAIN AND HEADACHES?

BOTOX appears to be a safe alternative to traditional treatment for most people who experience headaches, jaw tension or have a TMJ disorder. Nevertheless, it is important for BOTOX providers to screen patients to determine their eligibility for treatment. During the initial consultation, Dr. Dahan will review every prospective patient’s medical history before beginning treatment.
